Cosmetic ingredients compatible with Aloe Vera

We’re well aware of Aloe vera’s “super powers” when it comes to the health and beauty of our skin, but there are certain cosmetic ingredients that, when combined with Aloe vera, further enhance its effects.

Cosmetic ingredients compatible with Aloe Vera

At ATLANTIA we only work with Aloe vera of exceptional qualities. This is possible thanks to organic farming, the unique climate of the Canary Islands and the meticulous packaging and production process. The pure gel is undoubtedly its star raw material. Today we want to know which cosmetic ingredients combine perfectly with Aloe vera to create versatile skin care and beauty formulas.

Which cosmetic ingredients are compatible with aloe vera?

Rosehip oil

Rosehip oil is one of those cosmetic ingredients that combines perfectly with Aloe vera. “Aloe is well known for its high regenerative capacity. The same goes for rosehip, which also has a powerful regenerating and moisturising action. It’s also widely used to treat scars and stretch marks. That’s why it’s a great idea to combine both in products such as RegestimulRosehip gives the cream emollience, as well as an improved, more active texture, since it’s a product rich in essential fatty acids”, points out Juan Chico, pharmacist and ATLANTIA co-founder.

Shea butter

This comes from the nuts of the shea tree in West Africa and is highly moisturising and nourishing. “Aloe has a deep hydrating and regenerative capacity. Shea butter achieves great moisturisation and nourishment. If we combine both, we get a perfect formula to repair the skin. It’s also capable of providing greater elasticity and promoting regeneration, because shea butter also contains vitamin F. That’s why a product such as Superdefense is so widely used in treating radiation dermatitis. It hydrates and provides more elasticity, thus preparing the skin for the treatment’s side effects”, adds Chico.

Avocado oil

Avocado oil is a product rich in essential fatty acids, another ingredient that combines well with Aloe vera to provide mutual benefits. These oils are called “essential” when they can’t be synthesised by the body, which requires an external supply, either orally or topically. “Aloe deeply hydrates and regenerates, but it lacks any emollience to provide the skin with softness and elasticity, which is achieved by adding avocado oil. This ingredient is found in many ATLANTIA creams, such as Regenerage”, explains Chico. Its combined effect is perfect for atopic and sensitive skin.

Arnica

Arnica has been used to treat problems for thousands of years, for example, bruises, muscular or rheumatic pain, etc. Combined with Aloe vera, its analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties are perfect. It can be found in products such as Relax Gel, which acts on tired legs and is suitable for muscle fatigue, aches after sports or work, or injuries. “Actually, the Aloe juice used at Atlantia, with its many properties and high concentration, can be combined with any active ingredient. They just need to comply with some technical prerequisites to ensure the formula is stable and cosmetologically pleasing. That is our main challenge”, concludes the ATLANTIA co-founder.
